O
wner of Kind Heart Counseling, adolescent and young adult therapist.
Lover of cats & coffee… and also clichés.

I’ve been there, too…
I love working with adolescents and young adults. Not *too* long ago, I was in that same stage of life. My own journey through adolescence and young adulthood was confusing, uncertain, and involved a decent amount of pivoting. Through my own lived experience of navigating anxiety, ADHD, and recovering from an eating disorder, I believe that I can understand the incredible journey my clients face when it comes to their own healing.
I know it’s possible. I also know it’s really tough. I’m here to join you for the ups and downs, and everything in between.
My clients are the experts of their experiences and I truly value autonomy in the therapeutic environment, however, having lived experience helps me understand the journey that my clients navigate through recovery. There are many ups and downs when it comes to treatment for anxiety, eating disorders, and perfectionism. I aim to be a patient clinician throughout this process and want my clients to be able to advocate for themselves to get their needs met. Sometimes that means slowing down, sometimes that means speeding up, and I am aware that each individual’s process is different and unique.

Experience And Credentials
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia (#013564) with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. My training includes:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT)
While I use evidence-based approaches, my work is deeply rooted in a relational, client-centered style. I believe the therapeutic relationship is especially key to creating change, and I strive to meet each client with warmth, curiosity, and genuine understanding.
My professional experience includes working in private practice with teens and young adults, focusing on anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt. I’ve also led weekly therapy groups designed to help clients build coping skills, manage emotions, and strengthen self-confidence.
I enjoy incorporating expressive and creative interventions such as art-based activities, storytelling, mindfulness exercises, and games into therapy. These approaches allow clients to explore their emotions and develop skills like:
° Emotion regulation
° Assertiveness and boundary setting
° Conflict resolution
° Flexibility and frustration tolerance
° Improving self-confidence and connection
In addition to my clinical work, I am a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), serve as Secretary for the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN), and am engaged in ongoing training to become an Inclusive Eating Disorders Education Specialist.

My professional experience and knowledge inform my practice but my clients are at the heart of each session. I bring your interests into the room so that we can build upon your strengths.
